Committees
The Wausau Curling Club is powered by its members and the volunteers who make everything happen, both on and off the ice. Our committees help keep the club running, from maintaining great curling ice and facilities to organizing leagues and events, welcoming new members, and supporting the club’s long-term growth. Whether you have a lot of curling experience or are simply looking for a way to get more involved, there are many opportunities to lend your time, skills, and ideas. Explore the committees below to learn more about how our club operates and how you can be part of it.
The Executive Committee consists of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Past President. The committee provides leadership coordination and serves as the club's primary mechanism for addressing matters that require attention between regularly scheduled Board meetings.
The Executive Committee may act on time-sensitive matters when waiting for the next Board meeting would negatively affect club operations. When decisions are made on behalf of the Board, those decisions should be communicated to the full Board and documented appropriately.
The committee coordinates Board meeting agendas, helps establish leadership priorities, and ensures that important issues are brought to the appropriate committee or Board for consideration. It also serves as a communication bridge between the Board, Finance Committee, and operational committees.
The Executive Committee may assist with resolving significant conflicts or operational issues that require leadership involvement. Its role is to facilitate effective leadership and decision-making rather than to replace the authority of the Board.

The committee is also responsible for maintaining ice-related equipment and coordinating the use and maintenance of curling stones, pebblers, scrapers, and other specialized equipment.
Because ice operations depend heavily on volunteers, the committee works with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, schedule, and communicate with members who assist with ice-related activities.

It also reviews major spending proposals and provides financial information to the Board when capital purchases or other significant expenditures are being considered.
