Curling has a deep and storied history in Wausau, dating back more than 100 years.
Our 8-sheet curling center thrives today with our season running from Mid-October to March. Welcoming curlers of all ages and abilities with a variety of nightly and daily leagues as well as specific programming for juniors, there is an opportunity for everyone.

2024 CAN-AM Cup Stops in Wausau
The Wausau Curling Club will host a tour stop of the CANAM Cup of Curling on Sunday, November 10. Come on down to see Wausau curlers match up against their Canadian counterparts.
Learn to Curl
Are you interested in learning the lifetime sport of curling? We host Learn-to-Curl events to teach new curlers about our favorite sport.
Junior Curling
We are excited to teach the next generation of curlers. No experience necessary! Open to kids in grades 4-8 on Sundays from 6-8pm. Sessions start November 3.

The McCallum team from Wausau West won the boy’s title, besting the Macomber rink from Portage in the final match.
On the girl’s side, the Stevens Point I team, skipped by Pichelman, defeated the Sewall rink from Wausau East in the championship event.
Second event winners included the Timm rink from Waupaca in the girl’s competition. The boy’s second event was won by McMullen rink from Bloomer.
In the third event, the Youra rink from Portage defeated the Wendling rink from Wausau West. On the boy’s side, the winner was the Point I team, led by Brooks.
The Birchler rink from Lodi won the girl’s fourth event, while the boy’s fourth event was won by the Stanonik rink from Appleton East. 1 Comments
According to Jim Wendling, curling coach at Wausau West High School and bonspiel coordinator, 24 boy’s teams have entered along with 20 girl’s teams. Local high schools Wausau West, Wausau East, and D.C. Everest will be represented. The West boys are defending state champions.
Other high schools planning to be here include:
Stevens Point, Medford, Marshfield, Waupaca, Bloomer, McFarland, Monona Grove, Poynette, Portage, Pardeeville, Lodi, Kimberly, Neenah, and Appleton West.
Curling begins Friday morning, continuing throughout the day and all day Saturday.
The curling center is located at 1920 Curling Way on Wausau’s southeast side.

Tonight, the fun continues with a Ceilidh (pronounced "Kaylee"), a lively Scottish social celebration filled with music, laughter, and Highlander spirit. A private, fun event for our Highlander curling athletes!
